Diane Baruch DNP MBA RN CCRN-K NE-BC is an experienced manager with over thirty years of experience in the fields of cardiac and critical care. She has worked at both Mount Sinai in NYC and Northwell Health on Long Island, and currently works as the Patient Care Director for the cardiothoracic step-down unit and remote telemetry center for New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She recently graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with her DNP.

Dr. Diatta is an experienced clinician and leader with 32 years of nursing experience including twenty years of direct bedside experience plus 12 years of progressive leadership. She earned her BSN from SUNY Brockport (Magna Cum Laude) and her PhD in Philosophy with a concentration in Adult learning and Postsecondary Education (Graduating with Distinction). She is a Transformational leader and mission driven. She has great experience in curriculum development, training, and teaching. Her experience with creating Training Scenarios & Clinical Simulations, motivating nursing staff to “want” to achieve Strategic initiatives, and the deep-rooted experience of working with research processes, implementation methods, outcome measures, and finding clinical evidence that speaks towards Nursing Theory and utilizes Adult Learning Practices. She has managed as many as 135 staff members as a leader and career successes include motivating nursing staff to embark on and secure Beacon silver and Gold status.

Monika Tukacs has her expertise in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), its physiology and clinical application, and is passionate about evidence-based research in ECMO. Her pioneering in early recognition of the importance of liberating from invasive mechanical ventilation during ECMO is fundamental. The paucity in literature has led her to perform a qualitative study on experts’ perceptions about ECMO and Extubation in adult patients. This ground-breaking investigation has already raised an interest of researchers internationally. She has recently been asked to join in developing and conducting a multi-center prospective research study on the topic. Her contribution to this innovative application of ECMO therapy trailblazes the path towards the future of contemporary ECMO

Shannon Faythe Brown, a Registered Nurse with a passion for elder care, is an accomplished entrepreneurship and public speaker. She is a U. S. Army veteran and co-founder of Universal Nursing Services, LLC, where she is the Director of Clinical Services. As a Certified Case Manager, Shannon supervises a staff that delivers home health services to hundreds of clients each year under Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance programs. An aspiring business consultant, she shares her extensive experience with a large staffing firm as their healthcare clinician and Joint Commission Compliance Officer. Mrs. Brown holds a Masters in Health Administration and a Bachelors in Nursing. With over 30 years of experience in healthcare, Shannon has held various positions of leadership in home health, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities. She was the Interim Director of Medical Surgical/Oncology and Clinical Coordinator for Medical Surgical/Oncology at Northeast Baptist Hospital, and she served as the Assistant Director of Nursing for Mountainside Care Center, a 95-bed skilled nursing facility. Shannon is the Immediate Past Vice-President and current Treasurer of Judson Education Foundation. A knack for self-improvement led Shannon to Toastmasters International, where she is a Charter Member and Past President of Rising Toastmasters. Shannon serves on several boards to include Black Effort Against the Threat of AIDS (B.E.A.T. – A.I.D.S.) and Olympia Oaks Homeowners Association. She served as a member of the South Texas Gerontological Nurses’ Association, the Alamo Area Home Care Council, the Metrocom Chamber of Commerce, Case Management Society of America, and the Texas Association for Home Care.

A co-founder of Healing HealthCare Systems, Susan is a thought leader and knowledge expert on how the environment of care impacts the patient experience. She is a well-published author, having written articles and whitepapers for major healthcare journals and periodicals focusing on noise in hospitals, speech privacy, patient safety, elder care, and other related topics. Susan writes about the patient experience in a weekly blog on this website and is also a contributing blogger to the Huffington Post’s “Power of Humanity” editorial platform dedicated to infusing more compassion into healthcare and our daily lives. Susan has also been featured on ABC’s “Good Morning America” as a hospital noise expert. She earned her Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Development from Fielding Graduate University, where she also holds a Master of Arts degree. Susan was previously awarded a graduate fellowship to Stanford University where she completed her Master of Arts in Musicology. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Social Innovation at the Fielding Graduate University. Susan graduated from Wayne State University and was born in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to her work in healthcare, she had a full-time career as a jazz harpist, performing with Dallas Smith, and such notables as Ahmad Jamal, Frank Sinatra, and Julio Iglesias. Susan and Dallas’s music has been featured on NPR, the Discovery Channel, and NOVA. They are also the founders and sponsors of the Elder Care Concert Series in Reno, Nevada, which is administered by the Sierra Arts Foundation. She is a member of the American Gerontological Society, Global Society for Arts in Health, Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA), Beryl Institute Speakers Bureau and Resource Advisory Council, Stanford Alumni Association, Wayne State University Alumni Association, and Cass Technical High School Alumni Association. Susan oversees the strategic direction of the company including sales, marketing, and product development.

Yoshiko Yamaguchi has received her Ph.D. in. Kyushu University during the period of 2013-2016. Currently, she is working as a research associate in Home Care Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, Kwassui Women's University, Japan. She has successfully completed her responsibilities as a reviewer of The Open Nursing Journal, Archives of Nursing Practice and Care, Journal of Nursing and Women's Healthcare and LIFE: International Journal of Health and Life-Sciences. She has authored research articles on International Journal of Nursing Studies in Dec 2016. She is an editor of LIFE: International Journal of Health and Life-Sciences. And she is honorary president of the scholarly association IAPHLSR: International Association for Promotion of Healthcare and Life-Science Research. She has been awarded as the best presentation of 7th International Conference on Healthcare, Nursing and Disease Management, 2016, Singapore. (Oral presentation), and as the best paper of Journal of Japan Academy of Nursing Administration and Policies, (Research article), 2013.

Abdulqadir Nashwan is a Nurse Research Scientist (NRS) at the National Center for Cancer Care & Research (NCCCR) a member of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Qatar. He received his Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) in 2007 & Master Degree in Nursing Oncology (MSN) in 2011 from the Hashemite University (HU) in Jordan. In 2012, he joined the nursing department in NCCCR as an Oncology/Hematology Charge Nurse; then he became a Head Nurse for Urgent Care Unit in 2013 and in 2014 he has been appointed as a Nurse Educator. In 2015, he has been appointed as a Senior Adjunct Instructor at the faculty of nursing at the University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ). His current research interests include Research Utilization, Evidenced-Based Practice, Clinical Hematology, Medical Oncology, Nursing Informatics, and Cancer Immunotherapy. Mr. Nashwan has published more than 50 research articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the Blood, BMJ, and Journal of Pediatric Oncology Nursing. In November 2015, he has received Award of Merit for Placing HMC at the Cutting Edge of Cancer Research as a part of Stars of Excellence Program introduced by HMC. In October 2016, Mr. Nashwan has completed a Cancer Biology & Therapeutics (CBT) Program; provided by Harvard Medical School (HMS). Mr. Nashwan has been committed to mentoring and encouraging young clinical investigators throughout his career; he has formally supervised the training of more than a dozen MSc candidates and nursing fellows. His expertise is routinely sought in an advisory capacity both nationally and internationally; he has served as a member of health policy subgroup at ICN Nurse Practitioner/Advance Practice Nursing Network (APNN), also he has served a reviewer for several reputable journals (e.g., Journal of Applied Nursing Research, Asia-Pacific Journal of Oncology Nursing, and Journal of Cancer Therapy) and as an editorial board member at the American Journal of Nursing Science (AJNS), International Journal of Nursing & Hospital Care, and Trends in Medicine & Health (TMH).
